Day: 2, Tree: 2

If you are ever required - through poor choice of travel agents, lack of imagination, or the fine print in the holiday competition you shouldn't have entered - to spend your vacation at an airport, then I would recommend Singapore without hesitation. There are resort islands that have less to keep you amused than this place. It even has a working brewery on site (above).

As a tilt at retaining our sanity we decided early on to break our journey and spend some time at the Transit Hotel in Singapore's Changi airport, and it was a good decision. The thought of a real bed a short walk from the plane sustained us through seven hours of Luca - our baby neighbour - crying almost incessantly. Tara clearly won the behaviour stakes in our row, something that would have made us smug had the crying from the next bassinet let up long enough.

After a decent sleep for all three of us we ventured out for 'breakfast' at a late hour to start our shift towards London time. Wandering around the pristine terminals and shops, it soon became apparent that, had we been inclined to put Tara on ebay, Singapore is clearly our target demographic. Everyone keeps stopping and saying how cute she is, from staff to transiting drug runners (I'm guessing).

Oh yeah, back to getting here. Wasn't bad actually, Luca aside, Tara did pretty well. Not a lot of sleeping but still pretty good.

Ah, and the tree.. my phone decided to develop a mysterious and crippling problem the morning that we left home. What the? The phone that had worked fine for the past 8 months, and upon which I was heavily reliant for internet access for working during the time away. Dead. Well, coughing up blood at any rate. All attempts to salvage it failed until I bit the bullet and factory reset it in Singapore. This worked at the cost of losing everything on it, most of which I could either reinstall or wasn't critical. So we staggered off that branch and swung on...

Ha! I can see you guys now, turning around to the scowling passengers with looks on your faces that said, "No really, that's not OUR baby with all the screaming and the yelling and the noise and the m'hey m'hey -- we don't likes it either!"
Good work, looking forward to photos and the next tale!
